Swedish snus is made from air dried, steam cured tobacco which is the healthiest way to make smokeless tobacco. Healthy in the fact that no carcinogens are created from using smoke or fire to dry or cure the tobacco. After the tobaccos are dried, they are shipped to the factory where it’s ground into fine pieces. The grinding process is very similar to the process used for grinding grain into flour. After grinding, the tobacco is run thru a sifter and any pieces to large are sent back thru the grinder until the right size is achieved. After that, it’s off to the steam curing! |
